Well, I can put my Red Sox hat away again
What a relief. I couldn't deal with more postseason. Plus, it was getting expensive to keep going out to bars to watch games. However, the sentiment remains - fuckin sox d00d.In other news, there's a presidential campaign going on! I don't if anyone else but me heard about it - it's kind of a secret. Big news out of Camp Obama yesterday and today - former Bush apologist and probably also secret Muslim terrorist (it's because he's black!) Colin Powell endorsed Obama. Obama giddily responded that Powell could "come over for tea" any time and that he could "borrow my Big Wheel" if he were so inclined.
But for serious, Powell said amazing stuff in his endorsement, and it's really refreshing to hear some well-thought out arguments for making a decision, rather than the knee jerk, shoot from the hip mentality that both McCain and Obama have been employing. Specifically, I was blown away to hear Powell say this:
Powell also said he was troubled that some Republicans — he excluded McCain — continue to say or allow others to say that Obama is a Muslim, when he is a Christian. Such rhetoric is polarizing, he said.
"He's always been a Christian. But the really right answer is, what if he is? Is there something wrong with being a Muslim in this country? The answer's no, that's not America," Powell said. "Is there something wrong with some 7-year-old Muslim-American kid believing that he or she could be president?"
Take some cajones to come out and say that these days. Of course, it sent the Real Americans into an epithet-laced torrent of verbal diarrhea, which always reminds how lucky I am to not live in Alabama.
The other news is that Barry shattered his own fundraising record by raising $150 MILLION DOLLARS (count all those zeroes: $150,000,000) in September. Damn son.
