It was hailing like a mofo here today, so I didn't get a chance to take my pictures of the dunes and the mountains to get developed. Yea, I was using a disposable camera. Whatevz to you too.
Hence, pics soon. Promise. <3
I'm in my final week in Denver. Lots to pack in, including the last bit of my training, maybe a Rockies game, certainly a tour of
some sweet local breweries this Saturday (
Caturday?), and then back to Philly late Sunday night, getting in early Monday morning. Fun!
I miss the jive turkeys back in Philly, but Denver has struck a chord in me somewhere. My parents took their honeymoon here and seriously considered moving here, so I suppose it's only natural that I feel the same attraction. It's a really great city and an unbelievably beautiful part of the country.
On a sidenote,
Lou and
Gwen are moving to Providence. I, for one, will certainly be sad to see them go. It was nice to be able to go right down the street and watch some baseball or play some video games with some real good peeps. Of course, I've still got
my boy Drew and Miche Miche,
Erich is doing artwork that fucking rulz teh skoolz,
Taylor is a member of the real world now,
Amy and Tina missed me cuz I'm awesome, and
Christine B is on the prowl for people to hang out with, so things in Philly will still be pretty damn good.
So, blogging live from muggy-as-shit Houston, Texas. My flight out of Boston was delayed due to weather, and I missed my connection back to Denver. Fuckin a, man.
Airline gave me a discounted room at a hotel full of Halliburton "students." Luckily I have to get up at 6 for breakfast (which, a drunken HB employee assured me, is "the best in town") and I'm not _quite_ functional at that hour, so I won't start any shit, at least not deliberately. Of course, I'm also a huge pussy so I probably wouldn't anyways.
Went to the Red Sox game last night with some dudes from high school, kids I haven't seen in a minute. It was pretty great. We met up with girls from high school, too, and one of them reminded me that my five year high school reunion is coming up this Turkey Day. Shudder. I feel like Martin Blanke. Not so much in that I kill people for a living, or that I have a certain "moral flexibility," or that Dan Aykroyd is trying to get me to join a union, as much as I wish those things were true, but rather in that my head is sort of spinning about it - should I stay or should I go? (Bonus points for establishing the GPB - Clash connection.) Should I care? Luckily, I have five months to forget about it and then have this internal conversation again.
Camping all weekend next weekend. Huzzah! Can't wait. Going to
the dunes.
Quick update -
I'm in Denver. Closing in on a week. Three more to go. It's great.
I still have a mustache. Inexplicably.
Sir Not Appearing In This Film picked up an Onion last night for me. Denver has The Onion. Yesssssss.
<3 TMBG.
I don't apologize for the shitty quality of these photos. Also, isn't that shit gorgeous???
